AI search
optimisation
More buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews before they ever click a link. If those answers name your competitors and not you, ranking tenth on page one won’t help. This is how we change who gets named.
What we
do
Sometimes called GEO, AEO or LLM optimisation. The names are new. Most of the work is good SEO done thoroughly, plus a few things that are genuinely different.
AI visibility tracking
We test the questions your buyers ask across the main AI tools and record who gets mentioned, cited and recommended, so there’s a baseline to improve on.
Answer-ready pages
Clear headings, direct answers near the top, comparison tables and specific facts. The same structure that helps readers also makes your pages easy to quote.
Entity and brand signals
Consistent descriptions of who you are and what you do across your site, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, Wikidata and industry directories.
Mentions that models trust
AI tools lean heavily on third-party sources. Digital PR, reviews and expert commentary put your brand in those sources.
Crawler access
Checking robots.txt and your CDN don’t accidentally block the crawlers AI search tools rely on, such as OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot.
There’s a lot of noise in this space, so here’s where we stand:
- Google AI Overviews draw on Google’s normal index. If you don’t rank organically, you’re unlikely to be cited there. Classic SEO still comes first.
- Bing matters more than it used to. Copilot runs on Bing’s index, and Bing has been a key search partner for ChatGPT, so we set up and monitor Bing Webmaster Tools for every client.
- Blocking “Google-Extended” won’t remove you from AI Overviews. That token controls training for Gemini, not Search features. Many sites block the wrong thing.
- llms.txt is unproven. No major AI search engine has confirmed using it. We’ll add one if you like, but we won’t sell it as a strategy.
If your site barely ranks in Google today, AI optimisation is the wrong place to start. Get the technical basics and core content right first. They’re the foundation AI answers are built on.
AI search
questions
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend us?
No. AI answers vary between users and change often. We can measure your share of mentions over time and steadily raise it.
Is AI search replacing Google?
Not yet, and not evenly. Google still sends most search traffic for most UK businesses. AI tools matter more for research-heavy and B2B purchases, so we weight the work to your market.
Is this separate from normal SEO?
Mostly not. The bulk of the work is good SEO done thoroughly. We add AI tracking, entity work and AI-focused PR on top, rather than selling a separate product.
