Cookie policy

Short version: if you’re just reading this site, we don’t put tracking cookies on your device. Here’s exactly what does get set, and when. Last updated 3 November 2026.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work. Others track what you do so a business can measure traffic or show you adverts. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), sites need your consent before setting any cookie that isn’t strictly necessary.

Cookies we use

We don’t use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies. The only cookies this site sets are strictly necessary ones, and most visitors never receive them.

CookieWho gets itPurposeExpires
wordpress_test_cookieAnyone opening the login pageChecks your browser accepts cookies before logging inEnd of session
wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*Site administrators onlyKeeps our team logged in to WordPressSession or 14 days
wp-settings-*Site administrators onlyRemembers admin screen preferences1 year
_lscache_varySite administrators onlyTells our caching system to show logged-in users fresh pagesSession

Because these are strictly necessary, they don’t need consent and we don’t show a cookie banner.

Third-party services

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Google doesn’t set cookies when serving fonts, but your browser does share your IP address with Google to download them. Our privacy policy explains this.

If we ever add analytics, a chat widget or embedded videos that set cookies, we’ll update this page first and ask for your consent before any of them load.

Controlling cookies

You can see, block and delete cookies in your browser settings. These guides explain how:

Blocking cookies won’t affect your visit as a reader. It will stop WordPress logins from working.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page whenever the cookies we use change. Questions go to [EMAIL].
